MAC: Stlye Black

Okay so I have NOO will power what so ever... NONE!  I told my self I was going to stay away from the Style Black collection but after passing through Macy's... which you have no choice but to walk by the Mac counter when "passing through"  I didn't splurge too bad though I picked up a few things but only one from the Style Black Collection. I thought I'd show you guys a quick look I did the other night (the day I got it).  I also picked up Fresco Rose Paint Pot and Electra e/s.

Anyways I picked up Cinderfella Mineral Eyeshadow (MES) It is soooooo freaking pretty!!! I promose NO swatch that you will see on ANY blog will do this color justice! You can use it wet or dry. For this look I used NYX Black Bean as a base with Cinderfella MES blended with MAC Electra e/s and NYX Milk in the tear ducks.

The shadow looks a little sheer in this photo but I promise you this MES is SUPER pigmented!

Here is another shot

(PS.. No falsies...  *Thanks Revitalash*)

Did you guys splurge on this collection??? What did you get?

There are to different kinds: An all over shadow brush and a contour shadow brush (I got two of each).  The best part they were only $2.00 a piece! Woohoo!  They also carried a lot of ELF Cosmetics which I was surprised by.

MAC Pigment Samples

So on my wandering through the internet I came across this site called The Body Needs.  They sell of TONS of MAC pigment samples for $1.79    I have never bought Mac Pigment samples before so I'm not sure if this is the cheapest around but if buying full size pigments from mac is not in your budget (like me) then this is a great option!  All of their pigments are 100% Authentic MAC!  My order came pretty quick to.  I was so excited when I got my package.

You get 1/4 a teaspoon in each jar which can last along time because as you know a little goes a long way with pigments!

They ALWAYS have pigments on sale for 1¢- I got "White and Orange" for just a penny!!!

Every thing was packaged neatly!

Jamie's B-Day Cake Inspired Contest

Madi Gras- More than an Excuse to Party!!

After searching high and low for the "perfect" cake for inspiration for Jaimie's Cake Inspired Contest I decided on:  The New Orleans traditional KING CAKE.
"The King Cake tradition came to New Orleans with the first French settlers and has stayed ever since. Like the rest of Mardi Gras during those early days, the king cake was a part of the family's celebration, and really didn't take on a public role until after the Civil War. In 1870, the Twelfth Night Revelers held their ball, with a large king cake as the main attraction. Instead of choosing a sacred king to, the TNR used the bean in the cake to choose the queen of the ball. This tradition has carried on to this day, although the TNR now use a wooden replica of a large king cake. The ladies of the court pull open little drawers in the cake's lower layer which contain the silver and gold beans. Silver means you're on the court; gold is for the queen."
The King Cake isn't what you picture when you think of a "beautiful cake" it looks very hand done, like anyone could decorate it. The most simple, said to be the most traditional, is a ring of twisted bread topped with icing or sugar, usually colored purple, green, and gold (the traditional Carnival colors) with food coloring.

What makes the King Cake so special is all the Tradition behind it.
As tradition went on and the King Cake became more of a symbol of the past, the gold bean was replaced by a small plastic baby.

....And now finally for my look....
The King Cake... Done SEXY!

Party like you in New Orleans

It wouldn't be a king cake without the Icing and Sprinkles

::Both Eyes::

I had sooo much fun doing this look... it really is the most "dramatic" look I have ever done
(still learning)

If you ladies haven't check out Jamie's Blogs yet.. you need to NOW!!

There is still time to enter her contest so go get those brushes and get started!!!!

LOTD: Brown & Pink Neutral

>> Saturday, September 5, 2009

Today I had a Pampered Chef party and actually had time to do my makeup before (I'm usually always rushing) because I didn't have to be there until 12, so I thought I'd post a EOTD photo.  I finally got to use my MAC Fresh Cut e/s Palette (see picture of palette HERE)  This was a VERY quick look, I had time, but I had alot of other things to get done so couldn't spend all day....   I just did a light neutral eye with soft pinks and browns.

These photos are actually AFTER I got home from my party so I was SO exhausted!
I had a great party today, I booked two shows and
maybe also two lovely ladies to join my Pampered Chef Family!

ZOYA Nail Polishes

>> Friday, September 4, 2009

A few weeks back Zoya Nail Polishes had a HUUUGE give away promotion because they reached *5000* followers on Twitter. They gave THREE... yes I said THREE nail polishes of your choosing for....... FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! All you had to do was pay the $6.95 shipping, which is still a great deal because one Zoya polish is 6 bucks, so it was deff worth it. After HOURS of looking through all of their lovely with my ABC JAMIE I couldn't decide on just three.... So I went a little overboard and got 12!!! On one of the orders though I accidentally ordered 3 of the same color (Blair)! Whoops! I will most likely use them in afuture contest as part of a prize!

Now on to what colors I got.... Here they are, their GORJUZZZZZ!

I have been so busy since I got all my polishes that I have barely had a chance to try them out. Last night I finally dug into them while I was laying in bed and I just had to try Charisma first. This color... no matter how many times I took photos of it and played with the lighting.... would show up as vibrat as it really is in person, this color is AMAZING!!!! Seriously, its like a neon dark purple. The quality of the polish is to die for! It goes on flawlessly and you don't have to try to hard for it to look nice and neat. So here it is::

Here is what Zoya says about Charisma:

Bright flourescent fuchsia cream. Dries with matte finish.
Leave it or gloss it up with topcoat!

Tone: Cool
Finish: Cream
Color Family: Purples
Intensity: 5 (1= Very Shear to 5= Very Opaque)

The only thing I will say about this color is that it is TEN times more pretty in person! Zoya's description is spot on. If you would like to purchase your own Zoya Polishes check out their site here.
